Regional Laboratory Medicine belongs to Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Area 4, and has a clear coordination mandate for the entire Västra Götaland Region. The organization consists of the laboratory medicine activities at Södra Älvsborg Hospital, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Sjukhusen i väster, and NU-sjukvården.

Biomedical Scientist sought for Clinical Chemistry at Norra Älvsborg County Hospital (NÄL) and Uddevalla Hospital (NU-sjukvården)!

Regional Laboratory Medicine consists of the laboratory medicine activities at Södra Älvsborg Hospital, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Sjukhusen i väster, and NU-sjukvården. The organization belongs to Area 4 at Sahlgrenska University Hospital.

The Activity

Clinical Chemistry has laboratories at both Uddevalla Hospital, which handles smaller volumes with a focus on elective care, and at NÄL, which is an emergency hospital where the majority of the laboratory activity is located. NÄL serves customers throughout the region, such as Närhälsan health centers, private health centers, and many other external clients. The activity employs approximately 60 people, mostly biomedical scientists, as well as chemists, laboratory assistants, assistant nurses, registered nurses, and administrative staff.

The laboratory performs nearly five million analyses per year and has a broad analysis panel that is constantly adapted to current trends and medical developments.

The position is a permanent employment where a six-month probation period may apply.

About You

We are looking for you who are a licensed biomedical scientist or will graduate after the spring term of 2026.
